Michael Grimm – The America’s Got Talent winner 2010


America’s Got Talent Season 5 Winner: Michael GrimmThe America’s Got Talent winner has been named. The 2010 America’s Got Talent is Blues singer Michael Grimm.

Michael Grimm, 30-year-old, is from Mississippi. He has beaten 20-year-old soprano singer Jackie Evancho of Pittsburgh. Grimm has won $1 million and will headline his own show at Las Vegas. He performed When a Man Loves a Woman for the final show.

He plans to use some of his prize money to help his grandparents, who have lost everything in hurricane Katrina.

Michael auditioned in Los Angeles for the fifth season of America’s Got Talent. His audition received praise from all three judges, advancing him to Vegas week. He performed “You Can Leave Your Hat On” during the semifinals while recovering from a dehydration related illness. Despite the illness, he still managed to deliver a terrific performance that was once again praised by the judges advancing him to the finals.

The new America’s Got Talent fifth season contender looked stunned when he was announced as the winner. When asked how he felt, he said: “Is this really happening?”

The soprano singer Evancho, who impressed judges Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and Howie Mandel, said she had enjoyed taking part in the show. The experience has been amazing. She has loved every single moment that she’s been doing.
